"Description" field not visible in Navigation Pane after SP2

Hello. We are getting ready to upgrade our dept to Office 2007. Ever since
I updated my testing machine to SP2 for Office 2007, I can no longer see the
object descriptions in the navigation pane, even when the view is set to
"details". Our organization relies heavily Access databases, and on the
description of a query/table, etc. I was sad to see the sorting ability for
"description" gone in Office 2007, but now, after SP2, not being able to see
the description at all in the navigation pane is disheartening. Will there
be a fix for this released soon? I am preparing a training session for next
week and want to know how to explain this to users.

Also, after SP2, scrolling up and down the navigation pane with the mouse
wheel is really jumpy. It scrolls a few more lines on its own, after
stopping. Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's a bug. It's been reported to and acknowledged by Microsoft, but I haven't
heard any indication of when (or even if) they'll fix it.

Serves us right for complaining we can't sort the descriptions in the
Navigation Pane. Microsoft removed the descriptions so we can't
complain about THAT any more.

P.S. Please don't complain to Microsoft about the SQL view any more.
It's fine! It's fine!

Microsoft didn't remove the descriptions from the panel. The Access
development team provided the necessary fix for the missing sort. However,
some may think they were slightly overzealous; it appears they simply sorted
the descriptions out of existence...

I really hope that MS will fix the bug and release a quick fix soon. I am glad to see so many other people highly dependent on the description field in the detail display. It's critical for keeping track of what tables and queries contain and do. Now I'm having to maintain my documentation off line. A real pain that I now know many others are sharing.

I too hope Microsoft reads these. Add me as a "chief complainant".

I too have been a heavy user of the "description" line previously viewable
among the Navigation Pane table and query detail lines (i.e., before the
culprit SP2 was installed on my machine). I thus could store and readily
display key information about a query sequence or table, and download it all
using Database Documenter.

I hope Microsoft produces a fix soon -- please! The "jumpy scrolling" is a
pain as well, but losing the easy view of "description" has been a major one.

I'll keep monitoring for the Microsoft "fix" release (whenever), but if
anyone finds a solution before then I'm sure all of us "little people" will
send him/her many warm thanks for sharing!
