I have been asked to design a quote database for our sales department. The
tools I have are SQL2005, SharePoint server and InfoPath 2007. I have never
had to do anything like this.I have created a sales request form in InfoPath
and linked it to an SQL2005 database.
Objectives:
1. give our sales staff the ability to fill out a sales quote from a web
browser. No additional software needed (i.e. InfoPath installed locally).
2. give inside sales support the ability to query and then edit quotes that
were added.
3. have an email notification setup to email a particular person when I new
quote is added.
Questions:
-Is it possible to use InfoPath to create the query function and front end
screens needed to accomplish the above objectives?
-Will users be able to input information using only a web browser and not
need InfoPath installed?
-Can someone point me to some good reference sites to assist in finishing
this project.
TIA
