Design mode scrollbars are buggy or don't work

Access 2002 with all recent service packs displays very strange
scrollbar behavior on a new machine I have, running Windows XP sp1. That
is, usually on queries in design mode, the scrollbars stop working, so I
can't move the view of the tables right to left, or I can't scroll
through the fields in the query grid, or when I click the right
horizontal scroll button, the vert scroll button moves to the lowest
extremity. It's a real pain. This sounds like a graphics driver issue;
it's an ATI 9800 by sapphire, and through several driver revs nothing
has improved. Any other ideas? The pc isn't oc'd or anything, it's a
very basic install.

I have seen this since moving to Win XP Pro with Access 97 and 2K. I also
thought it to be a driver problem and have installed latest drivers and even
changed video card. Still same problem.
Everything works again if you just move or resize the offending window, even
the slightest bit. I have just gotten used to doing a move or resize
whenever something doesn't work. I have even seen it on a brand new machine
with factory installed Win XP. If you ever find a real solution, I would
love to hear about it.

Ok, that tip about resizing the window is useful. What is the video card
on the new pc?

Sorry, don't know. It is at client site. Whatever Dell was supplying about
10 months ago.
Mine current one is an ATI Radeon 9200.
