Design Template invisible

I have a couple users who have problems with Design templates in Power Point
2003. Office 2003 w/SP2 and latest updates. When the user tries to open a
new presentation from design templates, it goes to the slide design task pane
and the slide thumbnail spacing is there, but everything is blank. You can
hover over a design and pick it. It will then apply to the slides and you
can see everything. But the thumbnail design is not visible in the slide
design task pane. So, it is kind of a bind chance of picking the correct
design.

A different user with the same rights on the same computer can do it and see
the design template thumbnails. I tried totally reformatting and the problem
came back.

This is a wierd problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I since found many other posts on this. It looks like I am not alone. But,
it is a real annoyance. Something funny though, the problem in our
organization has so far been restricted to one OU in Active Directory. But,
we are not pushing any extra GPO's or scripts to them, so it seems wierd.

As you say it seeems to be getting more common. If you find a solution please
report back.

Possible ideas include:
Clear temp files
Clear browser cache
Check for files waiting to be burnt to CD
Disable add ins
Temporarily rename any .pcb files to eg .pxx
