Designating / creating status managers - enterprise projects

Sandy

We use Project Server 2007 for enterprise projects. Project Pro 2007 help
says oone cane "Change the status manager - Other proejct managers can become
the status manager for any of the proejct's tasks. For example, one project
manager might identify another as the status manager to cover absense. The
status manager takes ownership of the task assignments, so as to receive all
status updates while the project manager is absent." When I tried to assign
a status manager to selected tasks on an enterprise plan, only the project
manager's name assigned to that project was in the drop down from which the
status manager could be selected. How can I add other [enterprise] project
managers to the status manager drop down field?

Sandy --

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is dedicated to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
each of the other project managers must open the enterprise project and
specify him/herself as the Status Manager of the tasks that he/she will
manage. You cannot set them as the Status Manager yourself. Hope this
helps.

Dale,

Thank you for the information. It is helpful.

FYI, I tried to find the Proejct Server post for more than 45 minutes, and
in fruistration posted here. If it were easier to find, I would not have
cluttered this area.

Thanks again.
