Designer templates in OneNote2007

I have an OEM OneNote 2003 on one laptop; the new W7 laptop didn't have it so
I purchased Office2007/Home-Student in order to have ON on the new machine.

To my consternation, the templates/stationery did not include Designer,
which is what I use most in ON2003. Searching this discussion group, I came
across a reference to the location of the template files, so I looked there
on the W7 machine, and sure enough there is a Designer file there -- it's
just not available from the application's "choose a Template" list.

So -- is there a way I can get this set to display, or is it inaccessible
because of the version (Home/Student) of MS Office that I purchased (in which
case, I'll be really steamed.)

Hopefully, someone can tell me how to access those Designer templates in my
ON2007.

Thanks!

Mmmmmh, I dont't know ON 2003, but in my ON 2007 "DESIGNER.one" is NOT a
single template. It's a container for most of the templates and it's
name doesn't show up in my GUI.
Just open it from Explorer, then you can see the templates within.

I experimented a little and while I don't think this is necessarily the most
efficient approach, here's what worked for me:

In the Program Files \... \Template folder, I clicked on the Designer. One
file which caused it to open in OneNote as a new section, with each design as
a separate page, about 50 pages.

In order to add any of these designs to My Templates, I had to:
-right-click on the page tab and select Copy
-Go to another page in a diferent workbook/section, and Paste the design on
a new blank page.
-Then save that current page as a new template using the option at the
bottom of the Templates panel which I kept open.

I did this for as many of the 50+ designs that I liked from the collection.
Tedious, but I now have a good template selection.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue; if there was a more efficient
way to get the same results, perhaps someone will post about it.

These are the same templates I find by going (in ON 2007)
Format>Templates>Decorative.
They are already named for you.
Just lucky, I guess.

"Decorative" is not a category of template types available in the version of
ON2007 that I have purchased -- perhaps because it is a Home/Student package.
The pre-loaded template categories available with this install are:
Academic
Blank
Business
Planners

Designer.one is present on the hard drive, but does not show up in the list
of available template types. Thus my post.

Thanks,

Yes, thanks, Bernd, that's essentially what I ended up doing. I wondered if
there was a more efficient process than the one I used, but it really just
took about 30 minutes to get them all done.

Thanks for the feedback.

I now found it too, under "Dekorativ" in my German version of the Home &
Student edition !

The version you have got contains 100% of ON.
There are no differences to other versions.

It's really strange that "Decorative" did not appear as a category in
the TaskPane ...
Apart from that:
If you work with templates (I never use templates) you might benefit
from the "TemplateManager" PowerToy:
