Desktop arrangments

the program icons for my start menu have always stayed at the bottom of my
desktop. Now they are all on the side and it drives me crazy! LOL. I have
tried to drag and drop them back down to the bottom of the desktop but to no
avail. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I use Windows XP Professional.
thanks, in advance, for any solution you can offer to this problem. Just
irks me to have it on the side.

You've gotten into the Mac Office forum, but fortunately a few of us peek
through Windows every now-and-then

Right-Click your Desktop and in the Arrange Icons by submenu select either
AutoArrange and/or Align to Grid to remove the check (one at a time, of
course). Most likely the first choice is the only one that needs to be
removed, but now that you know where the commands are you may want to
experiment with them a little.
