Desktop Shortcut "Arrow"

D

Dan

Hi;

I am using Office XP Professional for my application and
Sagekey/Wise for my installation script. My application
and installation packages are working well and I have
even got my shortcut .icon to appear on the desktop.

MY PROBLEM:

When my .icon appears on the desktop, it has a little
curved white arrow on the left bottom corner of it. Does
anyone know what the problem is? Is it a windows problem
or a Sagekey/Wise problem? How can I get rid of it?

Thanks,
Dan

That arrow is to indicate it is a Shortcut to the program. In other words
it's a link to the program files as aopposed to the program files being
installed on your desktop. It is not a problem it is supposed to be like
that.

In the future, Office XP issues should be posted to the Office XP newsgroup.
This newsgroup is for set-up and configuring of Microsft Access.

When I said Office XP, I thought anyone with a degree of
insight would understand that I meant MS Office XP
Professional VBA!

I am quite aware the arrow means this is a shortcut. I
don't like the arrow, it covers part of my logo. Other
developers have managed to create shortcuts without the
arrow. I was just asking how.

Perhaps you shouldn't be out here trying to answer
questions.

Perhaps you should have explained your problem better....

By your question, I had no idea you knew it was suppose to be there. Now
that the spitting fight is over...

You can download a program called TweakUI for Windows XP and that MIGHT
solve your problem, it offers a choice of shortcut tags (AND I am not quite
sure, but might offer the option of not showing it at all. However, it
should be noted that should you plan to create a runtime version of Access
the shortcut arrow will reappear unless the end-user has TweakUI and has set
it up to show differently.) Note, Office XP VBA or not is still NOT
Microsoft Access. I was simply trying to get you to the newsgroup that
might have a solution for you.

Despite your attitude... Hope that helps.
