desperate to remove blank pages but to no avail

Hi,

I am desperate for a solution that can help remove the blank pages in my
word document (word 03). There are about 125 pages in the document and those
blank pages are just in the middle of the document. It's got footer and
header.

I don't think it's the header and footer that actually stops the pages being
deleted. I have run out of ideas and desperately need your help.

Here is what i found out which is really bizarre
say, the blank pages starts from page 60 to page 100. I put the cursor point
on the page 59 and moved it down by pressing the arrow down key button. The
cursor just stop going down from page 59 to page 60. The blank pages have
nothing on them but just the header and footer.

Just wonder if there are any ways of deleting them from the document that i
have to submit to my lecturer later today.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Click the ¶ button (or CTRL+*) so that you may be able to see what you are
dealing with. If that doesn't help and you are able to, zip the document and
mail it to my web site link.

Thank you Graham for your reply.

I have the ¶ turned on all the time, Graham. However, there is something i
need to tell you.

When i double clicked on the header, the dotted box surround the footer is
really long that almost touched the footer. I don't know how to make the box
smaller and not sure if this is the cause.

I would like to send the document over to you but the size is about 12M. I
have tried to make copy of it and remove some texts, images to reduce the
size but to no avail. Hope this would help you to help me.

Can you send just the defective pages and the page either side - assuming
that still displays the problem?

I have read that article written by you before posting it here. But i think
it's to do with Table or something. Because the headers of those blank pages
are way too big and consume almost 3/4 of the page. Another word, it extends
all the way down toward the footer of the page. I looked to see if there were
any tables on the earlier page but found none.

I am looking to providing FTP file access for the future to enable transfer
of larger files, but for the moment 12 mb is too large to transfer by
e-mail, so unless you can zip it and upload it to web space from where I can
download it, I cannot really help you further with this corrupt document. I
have replied to your e-mail.

A header will appear to consume half the page if the vertical alignment of
the section is set to Center, but what you describe sounds more like some
kind of document corruption. Use the Open and Repair option if it is
available to you; otherwise, see

I decided not to use the document anymore. I think it's been corrupted as
you and Suzanne have suggested. But for now, i just want to learn the
mistake/lesson from this experience. Now, i sit back and rethink as to what
caused this to happen. This document was actually completed as a result of
copying and pasting from a separate document. I think during that process,
different styles from different document might have been carried over and
added to my document. wonder if there are things i need to watch out when i
need to copy and paste again in the future. Or maybe at least being able to
stop the styles being added to the document.

When copying from other sources, use edit > paste special > unformatted text
to minimise such issues.
