I desperately need someone's help, as my clients are growing increasingly
frustrated that I cannot receive their emails.
I have been dealing with this issue to no avail for 4 months now. Running
Office 2008 on Mac OS 10.5.2. BRAND NEW Mac Pro tower, straight outta the
box. Hoped that starting fresh on a new machine with a new Office 08 install
would rectify the issue -- fat chance.
Essential issue is that either on startup or upon attempting to check mail,
see public folders, etc., I get the following error message:
"Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account "Exchange
Server" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad
password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect.
Would you like to try re-entering your password?"
No matter which option I choose, I get the same error message again.
My U/P combo is the same EVERYWHERE across our internal network. It is
absolutely, positively, unequivocally NOT incorrect.
Our network guy has done all he can think of, including deleting my account
from Exchange 2005 and creating a new one with a new identity. Same issue.
We even tried moving the machine to different offices to see if there was a
physical connection issue. Same result everywhere.
Here's the best part: 2 of my employees in this division have Macs, same
setup. They do NOT have these issues!!! Makes no sense to me whatsoever. The
Exchange server seems to have some personal vendetta with me.
On my old Mac G5 tower running Tiger, I had the same issue, except that I
could reconnect 3 or 4 times by restarting Entourage. However, after 4 or 5
times of that, the only way to get mail would be to reboot the Mac entirely.
I am losing hours upon hours every day to this, and as I said my clients are
running out of patience. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE -- if anyone out there knows
what this is or can help, please reply or contact me via phone. My info
appears below.
