Destination formatting for pasted text ... is there a way to makeit the default?

When I copy and paste from these newsgroups the font comes out Courier
New and the Style is HTML Preformatted. Is there any way to make the
destination formatting the default Normal style and font instead of
having to change it with the clipboard dropdown list?

Weird formatting characters always come along for the ride
when you copy text off of a web page. To strip them out,
try this shortcut: instead of going right to Word, paste
the text FIRST into Notepad. Then reselect it, copy again,
and paste into a paragraph in Word that you've already
formatted with a Normal style.

There is a little bit of clean up involved (such as
deleting carriage returns or restoring bullets or numbered
lists), but it's usually less than what you're probably
doing now.

That's more work than just clicking on the clipboard icon and selecting
Match Destination Formatting; I was just hoping it could be changed to
automatically match the destination formatting.
I clean up copied & pasted text with a template I've made and it does it
pretty speedily for me.
Thank you for your reply.
