Detach Label from Text Box

I am having trouble working with labels and text boxes in 2007. I read an
earlier post and it says to cut and then paste the labels but when I cut the
labels the text boxes are also cut and then when I paste the labels back the
text boxes do not appear.

In earlier versions you could separate the label from the text box easily.
Has anyone found a way to do this? Also, it seems that I cannot move or
change the width of a text box without the label counterpart assuming the
same size.

I appreciate any help you can give with making these objects work
independently of each other.

Best regards,

Try these --
Two things based on what you really want to do --
- You can drag the edges of the label or textbox so it is still linked but
change the position. Example drag top of label up and then bottom up to
resize; Drag left edge and then the right to wanted place.
- Click on label (make sure the textbox does not have drag tabs), using the
'Cut' icon delete the label, paste the label.
NOTE - the pasted label will appear in the upper left corner and must be
position as desired. NOTE - The label and textbox will no longer be linked
in that if you move one the other will not follow.

I don't have A2007 here at work, so this may not be 100% accurate, but
in design view if you select the controls you want "ungroup", then go to
the Arrange tab in the ribbon (I think), then click on Remove (I think it's
Remove, maybe it's called something else but it's like the fourth option
from the left)

KARL DEWEY:
thank you. I actually seen this suggestion in another post and I could not
make it work. I could resize but when I cut the label the text box always
followed.

BEETLE:
You were 100% accurate regarding selecting the label and text box and then
choosing "arrange" and "remove" to ungroup the controls. This did achieve the
affect I could so easily do in 2000 to move the labels and text boxes
independently.

Thanks so much for all of the help. These posts are invaluable!
