Detail Section-Field Spacing

E

Elaine

Hello,

Here is a sample of the report and problem I am encountering.

Ex Detail Section:
Company Members
ABC John Smith
500 B Street
Los Angeles, CA 91942

Jane Doe

How do I close up the "gap" on the members names? I have properties, can
grow and can shrink set to yes and it doesn't work.

I thank you in advance for your continued support. It is truly appreciated.

Elaine,
If I understand correctly, you would create a Company Group, and
place your company info in it.
Use the Detail Section for the "many" members of that company.
Example:
Company Group Header -----------
ABC 500 B Street Los Angeles, CA 91942
Detail Group ---------------
Mary Smith
Bill Jones
Joe Dickson
etc...

Are John and Jane two different records? Do they have the same Company? If
"yes" and "yes", you may want to put the Company in a Company group header
section.

Elaine

Yes, John and Jane are 2 records to one company. I did a group header on the
Company but the names do not appear on the same row with the Company name.
There are additional fields after the names and I would like all of the data
on one row.

Your support is appreciated.

Elaine,
Put the EmpName field next to the Company, in the Detail section,
and set the Company control's Hide Duplicates property to YES.
This will yield...

Since they are different records, you could use a main report based on the
company records and a subreport based on the names.

Another option is to put the company record in a group header and add code
to set MoveLayout = False. This will print the group header section on top of
the first few detail records in the group.

Private Sub GroupHeader0_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
Me.MoveLayout = False
End Sub
