Details View of MYTASKS - Optional?

Using MS Project Server 2007 - We have added fields to the top level view of
the MYTASKS view and do not need the "DETAILS" view to capture data regarding
task status. Can we disable that view? I do not see that it is optional or
that I can control what categories can see this view.

Thanks, JRH

Typically, I would remove all possible fields from the Details view, and
then through training, encourage users not to go there.

You might play with using a custom field to = Task Name, then reducing the
width of the Task Name field to 1 pt (as you can't remove it entirely).
That would make it hard to go to the Details view. I am not sure I would
recommend that approach though, as it may confuse end users even more - and
also would negate some of the notes/reassign task functionality.

For what it's worth, I've observed that younger users seem to be ok with
the My Tasks view, but the older team members seem to like going to the Details
view.
