Detect & Repair will not fix MS Word problem, Why?

When opening MS Word (MS Office Professional 2003) it says an error occurred
adn this feature is no longer functioning properly, run Detect & Repair to
restore this application. But when I do that it comes back with " No valid
sequence found for this feature." What can I do about this? Please help as I
use this program a lot.
