detect & repair

office xp outlook 2003.. I had a probelm with opening contracts (it wanted me
to debbug each time I tried to open a contact) So I hit detect & repair. It
wiped out all emails, folders, contacts. I have looked for them and didnt
come up with anything.

You have a mixed version of Office/Outlook?

Detect and repair does nothing to your data. Use Windows search to locate
all .pst files and open them one by one in Outlook (File->Open->Outlook Data
File) and compare the files to see which one is your default. When you
locate your default store, right click on any other open .pst files and
select "close."

Detect and Repair doesn't wipe out e-mails and contacts. Look for a
..PST file on your hard drive; it's probably in a hidden folder so make
sure your search includes those.
