Determining Dates in a Timeline

I'm working on a timeline and need to determine deadline
dates based on when a project is started and how long a
certain activity takes. I know I can take one date from a
cell and subtract the number of days an activity takes
(for example 4) to get the deadline date.

And I know there is an Excel Function where you can count
the number of *working* days between two dates
(NETWORKDAYS)

My question is: is there a way to work my formula where
I'm calculating out the future dates based on a starting
date that takes in to consideration weekends and holidays?

Thanks! I'll try that...

Take a look at the workday function

=WORKDAY(A1,20,H2:H12)

where A1 holds the start date, 20 is the number of days
and H2:H12 is a range that holds the public holidays

Format result as date to get the deadline

the above function is included in ATP but since you
know about networkdays I assume you have it installed
