Determining duration types

Does anyone know how to (from within visual basic for MS Project):

1. Determin the duration type, i.e. set to days, weeks, months, etc.
2. Determine whether e-days have been used?

Looked everywhere. There are functions to set these but to determine since
reading the duration is always read as minutes, regardless of what duration
type has been used.
