Determining font used in Word 97/2002 doc

I had to reformat my c: drive. Unfortunately, I didn't back up some of
the special fonts I had added, so when I open an old document that used
one of these fonts, Word substitutes one of the standard W2K fonts.

I'm trying to learn the name of the font so I can reinstall it. I opened
the document using Notepad, hoping that somewhere at the beginning (or
end) I would recognize the font's name. No luck. I couldn't open it at
all using Wordpad; program froze.

Any other tricks for learning the font's name?

Thanks,

Ray

Are these fonts that you downloaded from the web or part of other programs
or you have no clue?

More than likely, they came from a purchased CD (with hundreds on the disk).

And I assume you no longer have that disk?

Could you send me the file? I like a challenge. No guarantees but it could
be fun to try to figure out.

I now think the font came from a set of three diskettes that were part
of an Agfa Discovery True Type pack. But as I view them, I don't
recognize any as the one I'm looking for. Part of the problem is that I
no longer have a print version of the original document, so I could
compare them.

I'm sending the document as a separate email.

Thanks for your interest.
