Determining the user who has a document locked for editing

We recently upgraded our network, and since the upgrade the message
displaying "This file has been locked for editing by '<username>'" displays
the user as a local administrator account regardless of which user has the
file open.

If this helps, we upgraded from:
Office 2000
Server 2000 Professional
Windows 2000 Clients
To:
Office 2003
Server 2003 Enterprise
Windows XP clients

Does anybody know how to make it display the correct user name?

The users need to change the registered user name/owner name under Word Options.
