Happy New Year to all!

Is it possible to host databases from different environments in one
server machine? We have a Dev and Staging EPM installations and I
would like to ask if it is possible to have both environments share
the same server machine for their backend databases. Can I have the
Dev EPM to refer to the

Thanks in advance.

A very happy new year to you too.

Yes,

You can have a single database server for all the environment. You will need
to rename the databases created during provisioning of PWA appropriately as
they cannot have the same name.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks. Our ProjectServer is on version 2003. Can I use the EditSite
tool to change the db name from the default one (ProjectServer)?

Also, the DB that I want to move is on different version (SQL2000)
from the existing server where I want to host (SQL2005). Can I just
upgrade the DB to 2005 and use EditSite tool to do it?

Noynoy.

It depends , do you already have data in the dev and staging env? If
so the db's already exist and you simply upgrade the DB's to SQL 2005.
If not and you only have the stagin environment, you will have to
create another PWA instance as Gordan have mentioned. Part of this is
to create new db's. Otherwise you can backup the current DB's restore
them as a new name and when creating the new PWA instance specify the
newly restored db's as the instance db's
