developing a word file manager component

Dear friends,
I am working in a software development team which is developing Machine
Translator software. Now, after developing the translation engine, they have
assigned me a task which is development of a component that reads a word
file, translate it using translator engine and then generates another word
file which should contain the same formatting as the original file. I would
like to know whether the automation is the right way to do this or not. And
if not, what way do you suggest?
I am looking forward to your suggestions.
Thanks,

K

I have trouble imagining any other way, at all, to do this. So yeah,
it seems automation would indeed be the ticket. Did you have other
ideas?

LOL

Indeed.

The main issue is whether the original was a properly set up / designed Word
document; i.e. using Styles, from a .DOT template.

If it was, then simply use the same Styles. The formatting will be identical.

Oh boy, yeah, if the formatting were applied inline, it's gonna be a
bear. Imagine if some syllables were bolded or italicized or... :-/
