Developing custom save/export option in MS Office

Hello All,

I am wondering on where to start with this issue...

How would I go the route to save files to a custom location? I want to
have a custom File menu item that will Save a file to a specific
location. The custom Save menu item would also have a custom icon.
Would I do all this using VBA?

In what application Word, Excel, Outlook etc?
What kind of file? The current document or another file?
What kind of location? A mail folder, a file folder, a web site, etc?
