Device for Synching Outlook

Hi all!

After many years of synching my Outlook to my Palm (appointments and
contacts), the big bad IT department has disallowed this practice since, in
theory I could also synch email, and this poses a security risk. As an
alternative, they have moved everyone over to Blackberries. Since I have no
need for a corporate cell phone, I don't qualify for a Blackberry and so, now
I have lost my ability to have a portable Outlook.

My question is this......is there a tool which I can use to synch only appts
and contacts in Outlook (ie. that prevents synching mail)?

I am no expert, actually very new to this syncing process, but Mobile Device
Center 6.1 lets one choose or not to sync the various Outlook components.
