Dhtml and browsers

I have some dhtml in my pages which up to now looked fine, however on all the macs i have checked my pages on, some effects seem to be getting stuck. For example where you hover over a word and the colour changes the new colour gets stuck on and does not change back when you take the pointer off the word. Any suggestions or this just something i gotta live with
