DHTML Effects picture swap not working

F

Fabio Soto

I created a page with FP 2002, have since updated to FP2003. I have a
few buttons that on mouse over swap to a different color text, but now
I added a new button and the DHTML tool stays dark. It will not let me
select an effect. I noticed that the other buttons when selected show
the same problem.
Any ideas?

Here is the site www.SoCalBreakers.com

Thanks,

Fabio

Wit the web and the page open in FrontPage, click Tools > Page options, then click the Authoring
tab. Set the "Browsers:" dropdown to Custom and the "Schema version" dropdown to Internet Explorer
5.0 and then click OK.

Steve - Thanks for a quick response. I checked the settings and it was
already set per your instructions.

I failed to mention that these buttons that will not accept picture
swapping are in the top border.

On the main part of the webpage the picture swap works fine and the
tool bar is not dark

Is there a new way to change only the items that are inside the shared
borders?

When using JavaScript in a shared border, the code that would normally be in the head section must
be inserted after the open <body> tag in the shared border page to be included in all pages using
the specific shared border.

Thomas - That makes sense to you but not me. I only use front page in
the design view. I get slightly pale looking at the code. HELP!

The only way you are going to get this to work, is to work in HTML/Code view. You will need to:

1. Tools | Web/Site Settings | Advance tab and enable viewing of hidden directories.

2. Then open _border folder and then open top.htm, switch to HTML/Code View, then in the head
section of the page you will see your JavaScript, you will need to copy the block of code to line
after the <body> tag.

Thomas - That was it! Thank you for your assistance. I did not know
there was a hidden folder called Borders and in the folder there was a
page called Top. I just opened it and I was able to add the picture
swap to the button without looking at the code, but you sure were on
the button (no pun intended) Thanks again.
