On the DHTML Effects toolbar the only item listed in the
chchoose an event drop-down list is "page load". Why? How
can I make the others available?

You need to select text or an image on your page 1st to get the other options
- also check in Tools Page Options Compatibility/Authoring CSS 1&2 are turned on
