Diabled Macros applies to all newly opened files

Having an issue with the disabled macros security. It seems that the disable
macros are affecting any worksheets that are opened after disabling instead
of popping up the window that asks Enable or Disable with each file opened.
Why is this? How can we set it so it will ask each time a worksheet with
macros is opened.

You need to set your macro security level to medium instead of high (or
very high depending on the version of Excel you're running).

When I checked the security it is already set at medium. Can security be set
in multiple places? I check it under Tools -> Options ->Security.

No, This is the only place. What version of Excel are you using and what
steps are you using to open multiple workbooks? With macro security set to
medium, I choose File/Open from the Excel menu, Ctrl-click multiple
workbooks and click the Open button. Excel prompts me to enable or disable
macros once for each selected workbook. Tested in Excel 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Using Excel 2003 SP1. This diabled macros issue is sporadic and doesn't
happen each time. We open files through Explorer, recent files, File-> open.
It seems to happen more with using wireless but this is not definitive. It
seems like a bug somewhere, I just don't know where it's occuring. I thought
there was no way this could happen with the security that Excel has but it
does.

Until you can nail down a consistent repro case I don't think there's
much you'll be able to do about this. I've searched around and I can find
anything similar to this.
