diagnostic software utilities

I'm a student in Computer Technology and i need some help
with a project.

we are suppose to evalutate a diagnostic software utility.
unfortunately, i am not able to find such a thing.
examples were WinCheckIt, PC-Check.

can you help or point me in the right direction?
