Diagonal lines inside of table (crossing cells)?

To simplify, I have a 4x4 table. I want to draw a line from the
middle of one cell to the middle of another cell in a different row
and column. If columns are letters and rows are numbers, I want to
draw several lines, one of which would be from cell B2 to cell C3.

(How) can I do this?

Display the Drawing toolbar, either from the View menu or from the
button on the main toolbar. With the cursor in one of the cells,
select the Line tool and drag a line where you want it.
