diagrams in access database field

Diagrams in an access database field: I collect electrical data in access (I
think it is 2003) and it works great. But i dont know how to put in
connection diagrams. These are mainly electric motor terminal block diagrams
consisting mostly of six circles and several lines from each circle to
another. Each line will be labelled a colour, ie red, blue etc.. The data
'cards' I collect have a series of information then at the bottom I want to
be able to display a 'diagram'. Is the diagram drawn in a picture box added
to a cell or what? Can someone please tell me how this is done? Using the
query forms I am able to type in a brand which will bring up all the
information I have on that brand, and hopefully when I select and item it
will bring up the dat and the drawing with it.

Your diagrams need to be drawn in BMP format and stored in a separate
folder from the database.

Bit Map? Boy Stevo, you are a real amateur when it comes to computers. He is
dealing with discrete shapes, not random colours as in a photograph.

If you are storing graphics, one key feature is resolution. For a good
resolution, a BitMap must be a large file. Vector graphics can give you an
infinite range of resolution with minimum file size.

Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphics

Are you dynamically creating the connections for the terminal block or do
you want to store the image of a preconfigured terminal block?

Hi, thanks for the response. I am actually an amature and doing this but can
manipulate the databases with text quite well. The diagrams I want to
include are generally pre-configered. Our manual data cards contain things
like kw, brand, amps, wire used, price cost to be done, for later recall
reference. The manual cards include the motors manufacture details such as
slot lengths etc. At the bottom of the cards the electricians draw a sketch
of how the connections were data. So at a later date the informaton can be
retrieved for accuracy if the repair has to be redone. I checked my
ccomputer at work today and found it was Access 2000 on windows XP. Ideally
I would like to be able to scan the cards and add to the data base to save
retyping everything. I would have to enter the core details then in one of
the fields would like to add a sketch or diagram, or which is the correct
computer term for this application. The manual database is quite large but
efficient. But it needs to go on computer to save time.

Does this help?
