Dialog box is open

Kathy

When I do not have Word open and I double-click on a Word file to open (and,
hence to launch Word), the following error window appears:

"The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click okay
and then close open dialog boxes to continue"

I click okay, then my file opens.

What can I do to prevent this from occuring each time I want to open a file
and launch Word?

Thanks.
Kathy

There's a dialog box open (behind Word most likely) that is requesting
action. You have to deal with that dialog box first. But if you don't
want this to happen anymore, you need to remove the Norton Office
plugin that you most likely have running.

You're using Norton antivirus, right? In Norton, go to the Advanced
Options and remove the Office Plugin.
