Dialog boxes hidden behind document

When I first start Word XP in Win XP, all the dialog boxes come up BEHIND
the document window. I have to click on the orange flashing bar in the task
bar to see the dialog box. Once I do this, everything behaves normally for
that session. But if I restart Word, the behavior occurs again! Why??

The problem is caused by one of two issues:

If you are using Norton then try disabling the "Office Plug-in" option
since it is known to cause dialog boxes to appear behind the
application window.
In Norton go to "Options" and then select "Miscellaneous" and disable
the Office Plug-in option.

If you are starting Word using the Quick Launch bar then this is a
known bug and it has been corrected in the Office XP SP2 patch. Here
