Dictation will not work in Office programs, but it will in here! (Where I don't want it!) I can't find a problem. Mic is working, Voice Commands work, training works. Have ran Office repair several times and reinstalled it. Microsoft English ASR Version 5 Engine is installed. Clicking on "Dictation" does nothing. Clicking on Microphone appears to open and close the mic and it does recognize voice commands as I said. I have plenty of RAM and hard drive space. I think, but I am not sure about this, that it has never worked since I installed Windows 2000. I know it used to work with ME. I reformatted the hard drive and installed 2000 a year or so ago. And as far as I can remember I have never gotten the dictation to work. Goofy thing keeps adding words in here though and mic is supposedly off!
