Dictation in PowerPoint 2007

Running vista with Microsoft speech recognition, dictation does not work well
in PowerPoint. I have trained speech recognition and it seems to work fine
in other applications, but dictation in PowerPoint is practically impossible.

Hello,

I was using this feature last night, in Microsoft Word. It worked very
well, and I got heaps of work done (in fact I am using it now).

The biggest problem that I have found has been convincing it to do
dictation. It sometimes seems to get confused with windows commands, and in
some cases refuses to do in the dictation at all. (For example, I just had
to do a reboot to get it working again).

But as for tonight, my computer hard drive is is going berserk and it is
struggling to keep up.

I have now tried it in PowerPoint, and must admit it is very hard. I was
hoping to do some typing in the outline view. The problem is though, that
it seems to rely on punctuation to know that you're at dictating. It gets
confused with menu commands, but it may be because I haven't got it trained
properly yet. I think also that you need a very good microphone and you
need to have it very well setup.
