Dictionary Errors After Office SP2 (or was it 3?) Installation

Yesterday, automatic update downloaded a 230meg file of Office Updates.
Today, the words chnagess, sderttf and dertsd (and other errors) are not
highlighted in Word 07 as errors and a spell check of the document turns up
no errors. Yes, "check spelling as you type" is checked. Anyone else getting
the same behavior?

Language and spelling settings have been organized this way for many, many
versions. Most of the Options settings apply to all documents; "Hide
spelling errors" applies to an entire document. Language settings, however,
can be applied to selections as small as a single character. See
