'dictionary lookup' command in word 2002

I periodically lose my 'dictionary lookup' command in tools. Its like POOF
and its gone and then it comes back 2 weeks later. I've used help - "how to
look up a word", I double click on it, and it does nothing. Why does this
happen and where can I find the dictionary when it disappears. I'm a writer
and I really really really need it. Thanks.

I would guess that this functionality is provided by a third-party add-in
since I don't believe there is any such feature in Word 2002 itself (there
is in Word 2003, but it uses online sources). Perhaps it depends on an
add-in that must load at startup?
