Polish dictionary for 2004 anywhere, anyone?

I guess you are talking about proofing tools ?? Only the US definition
dictionary is proivided with Office 2004 (no matter what localized version).
There are unfortunately no Polish proofing tools provided with Office and I
don't know of any third party developer providing any proofing tool that
actually integrates in Word.
Some companies provides tools that work well with Office though but I don't
know any that provides support for Polish :-\

Even Excalibur
http://www.eg.bucknell.edu/~excalibr/excalibur.html
doesn't offer support for Polish :-(

Actually Aspell has Polish dictionary. Relatively decent. And many
others. http://aspell.sourceforge.net/

Aspell is a system wide spelling service under OS X so it is available
everywhere, including browsers for example. Most 3rd party word
processing sw works with it. MS Office, needless to say, doesn't.
Installation of cocoaSpell is trivial see
http://cocoaspell.leuski.net

I know Office X sold in Poland comes with proper dictionaries. So let
me repeat - what about 2004?

There's a difference between a spelling checker and a dictionary that gives
you definitions of words, even though some people use the terms
interchangeably.

When I installed Office 2004, I was able to choose and install a number of
spelling checkers for some of the languages I work with. But as far as a
definition dictionary, only the English dictionaries (two) were available
for installation and were indeed installed. Are there others?

I have no idea where they get the Polish dictionnary for this version. I know
for sure the French and English version don't have it.

If it is indeed the case, I'd contact MS Poland to ask them. They must have
made a deal with a third party developer.

Nope and that's what I was referring to. The only "definition dictionary"
that ships woth Office is the US one. The other "dictionaries" are nothing
but spelling or Thesaurus dictionaries (the term is confusing, I know). That
explains why the Define command only works with English :-\

That's eassy enough to verify, check in /Applications/Microsoft Office
2004/Office and you'll see only the English dictionary there.
