Different bar colors in calendar view

I'm looking for a trick to be able to change the bar colors in the calendar
view based on the type of task it is. We've used the 'Marked' field, but we
need to have several different colors. If we have a custom field that we use
to identify the type of task (i.e. visit, event, project, etc.) can we set
different bar colors based on the content of that field?

On the View menu, click Calendar.
On the Format menu, click Bar Styles.
In the Task type list, click the taskbar type for which you want to
change the formatting.
Under Bar shape, click a bar type, pattern, color, and split pattern
for the task type.
If you want to add a shadow effect behind the bar, select the Shadow
check box.
If you want to extend (or round up) the task bar to the nearest full
day, select the Bar rounding check box.
In the Field(s) box, type or select the field that you want to appear
within the bar.
If you want more than one field to appear in one position on the task
bar, type a comma (,) after a field name, and then type or select
another field name.

In the Align box, click the alignment you want to use to position the
text.
To see the text continue on another line, select the Wrap text in bars
check box.
