Different font when I open Format/Font

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I just noticed that when I
open Format/Font the list starts at some other font than what is
actually being used in the doc. I don't remember that ever happening
before. It has always been set on the font being used at the cursor
point. Can anyone clue me in? Maybe this is something new with Office
2003 and I just noticed it, I've been using it for several months now
though.

Also, when I search for the font (Avantgarde) I can't find it anywhere
on my computer, not in fonts or any other folders.

Thanks Venus

Hi Venus
Are you actually clicking on the Format Menu then choosing Font or are
you clicking on the Font drop down menu on the Formatting toolbar? If
it is the latter, then the fonts listed at the top are the 8 most
recently used, and you will see a line separating them from the
alphabetical list of fonts available.
The font where your cursor is at will appear in the drop down box
itself and highlighted.

Re the Avantgard font, perhaps it simply has not been installed.
