Different releases of Operating Systems and Access

I mostly use Access2000 on a WindowsXP operating system.
I keep getting errors and corruptions on simple tasks
such as linking tables from the backend database to the
frontend database. I do not have the error messages
handy though can reproduce the error if needed. My
client site runs Window2000 with Access 2000 and I can
perform the task with no problems. I then realized that
this may explain some other haywire things that have
happended in the past where I shrugged off as "just one
of those things". This does not happen frequently though
I get enough errors on the Windows XP/ Access 2000
configuration that it makes me wonder?

Does anyone know of anything that may make this thought
valid (Different operating systems causes different
things to happens)? Thanks in advance. Alicia

Alicia, you are unlikely to get any help unless you describe >what< the
errors >are<.

Otherwise, it's a bit like saying: "My car doesn't work. What is the
problem?"

The error message says something like "Can't find file
named XXX in path ......" even though the file exists. I
separated the database into a frontend and backend and
was trying to link the tables from the backend to the
frontend. I've done it many times...fairly simple. I
run XP on my office PC and kept getting the above error.
I have gotten the same error before and have had to send
a file off to an expert to attempt to "uncorrupt" it and
they were only able to recover a portion of the
database. When I started getting this same error on this
file, I started wondering (and having a heart attack at
the same time) if it had to do with XP since I can
perform the linking tast in window 2000 at my client site
with no problem.

Maybe there is no correlation? Just a thought.
Thanks Alicia
