different versions between PS and client

Just a quick question - can you have different SP levels between client and
server.

ie PS 2007 with SP1 and Project Pro 2007 SP2?

Hi,

Not recommended at all. For proper operation most updates require the same
level on client and server.

Corruption of the Enterprise Custom Lookup table data values is a key
one. In other words, a Project Manager using Microsoft Project that
is not patched to th same version as Project Server may experience a
situation where the custom lookup table data is different from what is
expected.

Rod is correct that they should be the same version and since the
updates are free, there shouldn't be a reason to not do it.

Hope this helps,

Worst issue is communication between Project and project server stops
working! If MS has to change how information is sent and the other end
doesn't expect a change, data corruption.
