Differentiating individual pages

I would like to be able to look at the side tabs and have them separated into
two or more colors to differentiate subject matter. I tried format>section
colors...but its global. I also tried changing font color on subheads so
that the titles would be different colors...but global. I also considered
subdividing by topic, but was unable to hide subfolders so that only two tabs
showed. Any suggestions? Thanks!

No unfortunately. There are no formatting options for the page tabs. You
can still give the pages meaningful names, and can set the size of the page
tab to be as large as you want by dragging the separator bar between the
tabs and the page content to the left/right. Also, be sure you don't have
the Page Tabs collapsed.
