Hi there,
The Macs at our institution use an automatic proxy configuration script (.pac file) in order to access the Internet through a proxy server.
We have noticed recently (perhaps after a recent update) one of our Macs, which is installed with Entourage and uses several external POP3 servers, can no longer access the POP3 servers when the proxy configuration script is enabled.
I presume this is because Entourage is honouring the proxy pac settings and is trying to connect to the POP3 servers via the proxy.
The questions I would like to ask are:
1. Can Entourage be configured to ignore Proxy Pac settings for POP3 and SMTP servers?
2. If it can't be configured, is there a way to configure a Proxy Pac file to treat POP3/SMTP traffic as "Direct" (I have not been able to find a way to do this).
Thanks in advance,
Erik
