BACKGROUND
=========
I have two Windows 2k3 servers. The front server is setup as the Domain
Controller and the back server is a domain member. The back end server has
SQL server installed. The OLAP Administrators group shows the
DOMAIN\Administrator as a member.

ISSUE
======
I am unable to add a domain account to the OLAP Administrators group:
specifically, the only 'Locations' available are the local accounts. Why
can't I see the DOMAIN (from this dialogue box). I believe that I should
since the DOMAIN\Administrator account is already (somehow) a member of the
OLAP Admin... group.

Hi Gary,

I added WINS to the PDC (DNS) is running: unsure how to evaluate \ test if
they are setup \ working correctly.

I believe that the SQL SVR machine can see the PDC: When I add a logon to
the SQL SVR, it allows me to choose my DOMAIN accounts. If I am shouldn't I
be able to add domain accounts to the 'OLAP Administrators' group in the
Computer Management Console > Local Users and Groups > Groups?

The DOMAIN\Administrator account is already a member of the 'OLAP
Administrators' group.

Thanks.

My EPM consist of two machines: the PDC is on the front machine (FRONT). SQL
SVR is on machine = BACK.

I was able to add domain accounts to the OLAP Admins users group on the PDC
(FRONT). I suspect however this is not enough and that I still must add the
MS Project Domain accounts to the OLAP Admins users group on the SQL SVR box.

Is this correct?

Thanks

Is the SQL Server machine (BACK) in the domain?
If not, only the local computer is available in the locations.

You can check it logging on to the back server and right clicking on
mycomputer, properties, then selecting the Computer name tab.

If the computer is in the domain, you sould see it on this tab. If it is
not, you can join the computer there.

A good question...

When I logon, I logon as a domain administrator. In addition, I checked the
'my computer' properties and it confirmed that the SQL Server machine (BACK)
is in the domain.
