(This is a bit OT. If there's a more generic ng that this would be more
appropriate in, I'd love the suggestion...)
Ugh. I've been messing around all day trying to get my company's existing
digital certificate to work with my Access 2003 project.
Finally, I've noticed on the Verisign website that they list two separate
products: "Microsoft Authenticode Digital ID" for exe's, cab's, etc. and
"Microsoft Office and VBA Signing Digital ID". My company has previously
used the certificate for web ocx's, so I gather that we probably have the
former and I probably need the latter.
My problem: I can find NOTHING anywhere on MSDN or other websites that
confirms that there is a real difference between these two and that the
Authenticode cert. won't work with a VBA project. My boss is *very*
reluctant to go through the hassle of getting another certificate without
some sort of independent confirmation that there's no way for the one we
have to work.
Anyone able to tell me for sure if there's a real difference?
