Digital Signatures-Browser-Driving me Nuts

Going round in circles...
Setup
Virtual server Winsvr2003 with AD and Certificate CA server
installed / MOSS2007 / IP2007

Design one section form in IP (in the VM), set for digital signing and
publish domain trust unsigned(template) to a forms library on MOSS.

In the SP library if I right click and select open/edit form with IP
then i am able to sign and see/choose the certificates (3!)

If i select the browser then when I click 'sign' i get "an error has
occurred please try again" or something like that, the SP log gives no
clues.

Can any one help, I have searched and searched but to no avail, is
anyone using digital signatures on web forms or am I the only one
facing difficulties?
