Dim a textbox without writing code?

Hi,

Is there a way to dim a textbox in InfoPath without writing code? Textboxes
can be set to read only....but this does not visually convey to users that no
entry is required. (Dropdown boxes can be dimmed in Conditional Formatting
and the UI is very clear).
