I am a graphic designer. I am used to placing an image and having the #@$%^ thing stay put! Word is making me crazy.
I have a client that needs a word letterhead to mimic thier print letterhead. The set up is logo on the right hand side, address block stacked on the lower right hand side and two membership logos in the bottom left hand corner.
My problem is that I can't seem to get these elements to stay put and not attach to the text. I have unchecked the stick to text box (or whatever it says) in the advanced layout dialog box. But the damned elements keep attaching.
I've put everything in text boxes so it is not part of the main flow of text. I've tried putting the membership logos at the bottom in the footer. I've tried grouping everything and sending it behind the text.... nothing is working.
I have seen templates that have the letterhead elements dimmed (like the flags letterhead). This would be ideal. I don't want the things to move and I only want them on the first page.
I am losing my friggin mind. I have spent 3 hours trying to figure this out. Thank god I mainly work in Quark / PageMaker / InDesign, where things stay put.
Please please please help me
