When I place .dcr file in PowerPoint using activeX..It plays fine but I am
unable to advance to the next slide with a click or the page down or
arrows..Yes click to advance is on. I have a roller on my mouse and if I
roll down it does advance. but nothing else works..

any Ideas out there?

That's because all ActiveX controls are the active objects while they play -
you'll have to click on an area outside the control to activate the actual
slide - thereafter all PowerPoint shortcuts should work and allow you to
advance the slide.

Thats just dumb! Microsoft are idiots..So i guess you cant really use dcr
file during a presentaion like you can flash which you can click out of.

is there any lingo in Director that will quit out of the dcr or advanve the
slide on a key press
